SEASON NOTES

All-State player selection is replaced with the All-League team comprised of the top three forwards, two defenseman and one goaltender as voted by the coaches from a ballot made up of first-team All-Stars.

A new academic award is initiated - President's Senior Academic Achievement Award - presented by the League President to Seniors graduating with a 3.5 GPA or better.

Quad City Presidents change the team's name to Quad City Blues.

Waterloo Warriors hosted the 2003 year-end tournament. Almost 500 players and parents attended Saturday night's banquet at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in downtown Waterloo. In lieu of a quest speaker, three IHSHL players each presented a short speech on what high school hockey meant to them. Presenters were: Beau Erickson of Sioux City, Molly Buehner of Waterloo and Kyle Abben of Mason City.
