The Des Moines Oak Leafs became the first team in League history to win three consecutive Varsity year-end tournaments. |
This year begins the centralization of the Varsity and Junior Varsity tournaments in Ames at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena. The Junior Varsity will be the first to play in Ames this season with both divisions to play in Ames the following season. The centralized tournaments will be managed by the MHSHL Executive Committee. Previous tournaments were rotated among League teams. It marks the end of an automatic berth for the host team. This season Quad City will host the last non-centralized Varsity Championship Tournament, February 29-March 2, 2008, at the Quad City Sports Center. |
Two new teams join the League - Kansas City Stars and Tri-City Jr. Storm. |
Omaha Jr. Lancers exit the League leaving no teams from Omaha. |
