The USA Hockey High School National Championships began in 2010. The Midwest High School Hockey League has sent at least one representative team each year. In years 2010 to 2014 teams were grouped into one division. In years 2015 to 2024, teams were divided into two divisions - Division I (pure) and Division II (combined). All players on Division I teams attend the same school. Players on Division II teams attend multiple schools. In 2025 a third division is added - 3A, 2A and 1A divisons, 3A being the strongest division. A Placement Committee seeks to achieve balance and parity within each division. Teams placed in a specific division (3A, 2A and 1A) may not be exclusively pure or combined teams. |
