The League switched its web-based scoring and statistics provider from Pointstreak to TeamLinkt. Pointstreak had been in use for 18 years since the 2006-07 season. The League also unveiled a new website within the TeamLinkt management system.

Boji Mammoths, out of the Iowa Lakes area, rejoins the League. The Mammoths entered the League during the 2019-20 season but then exited for the next four years to regroup. The team plays out of the Boji Bay Ice Arena in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

USA Hockey mandated neck guard protection for the 2024-25 season.

Due to mechanical issues at Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, the USHL Des Moines Buccaneers were forced to play the 2024-25 season at MidAmerican Energy RecPlex in West Des Moines. Conflicts with the Buccaneer's schedule, forced the MHSHL Championship Weekend at RecPlex to move to a Thursday through Saturday schedule - Thursday, February 27 to Saturday, March 1. The Des Moines Capitals continued to play their 2024-25 season at Buccaneer Arena.

Championsdhip Weekend tournament runs from Thursday, February 27 to Saturday, March 1.
Ten Varsity teams qualify. Seven through 10 seeded teams play a qualifier game. All games are single-elimination. No third-place Varsity game.

Six Jr. Varsity teams qualify. Three through 6 seeded teams play a single-elimination qualifier game. Jr. Varsity plays a third-place game.
