In the summer of 2022, Dubuque's Mystic Community Ice Center came under new management of the neighboring 'Q' Casino and was rebranded as ImOn Arena in September 2023.

Des Moines Oak Leafs forward Carson Clemmensen tied the League record for goals in a single season netting 54 markers. The previous record of 54 was set by Waterloo's Ben Sinnott during the 2018-2019 season.

Teams will now start the Varsity regular-season overtime period with three skaters and a goaltender. Previously, the overtime period started with four skaters and a goaltender.

This marked the third year that the 2024 MHSHL Championship Weekend was staged at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex, March 1-3.
