 Mason City Mohawks hosted the Varsity Year-End Tournament at the North Iowa Ice Arena, March 4-7, 1993.The banquet was held at the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. Guest speaker was Kevin Hartzell, University of Minnesota player, USHL coach, and columnist for Let's Play Hockey magazine. The start of the Varsity year-end tournament was set back by problems with the ice at the North Iowa Recreational Arena. Friday's games were scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m., but didn't get under way until 4:00 p.m. The last of the first-round games didn't finish until 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. |
