This is the first year of the IHSHL All-Star Game held at North Iowa Recreational Center in Mason City. The event is held in conjunction with the United States Hockey League All-Star Game. Each coach selected his team's two best players and the remaining selections were voted on by all coaches. Players were then randomly drafted onto two teams. |

Ames Little Cyclones hosted the Varsity Year-End Tournament for the third time, February 27-March 1, at the Cyclone Area Community Center in Ames. The two previous times the event was held at Hilton Coliseum in 1977 and 1978. A kick-off breakfast was held Thursday morning with presentation of awards at the Starlite Village Conference Center. A hospitality party was hosted Friday evening in the Community Room of the Ames Parks & Recreation Building. |
